How does one remove gum from an item? I've tried the ice trick. Actually I stuck the whole thing in the freezer overnight and then used the pot scraper to try to chip off pieces. It was an improvement, for sure, but there's still a ways to go. I seem to remember something about peanut butter? But maybe that's for tree sap.
So, hey, all you moms out there: help!
Just in case you're curious, it's the dog's collar that needs fixing. Apparently on our walk through the park yesterday while rolling around, some gum worked its way to the inside of her collar. Between fur and collar, that is. And it wasn't until around 9 PM that we noticed it. Lots of time for it to make itself comfortable against a warm puppy body. I cut the offending part out of her fur. The pathetic dog has kind of a bald spot on her neck now; I was more concerned with getting it all than blending the trim with the surrounding fur. The collar is proving stubborn, however.
How does this dilemma rate? Road kill was definitely grosser. But gum is definitely more work.
