Okay, so she may have the looks of a Collins. And the stature, and the head size, and the get-up-and-go of a Collins. But she has the music appreciation of a Blech. Whew. For a while I was thinking I needed to ask Bill for a maternity test. But she got something from me after all!
This girl loves to sing. She likes to dance while we sing. She likes it when someone on the TV sings. She even listens when the dog sings. When we go out for a walk and she's fussy, we sing The Ants Go Marching. When she won't go to sleep at night we sing Lullaby and Good Night. When she's a bit overstimulated and on the verge of going overboard we sing everything we're doing to the tune of Frere Jacques. When we make a mistake we sing The Frog and the Mouse (which goes "whoopsee diddle dee dandy oh"). When we feel like making funny noises we sing The Austrian Yodeler.
What with all the songs and then the lectures from Bill on how LEDs work or organ transplants or evolutionary biology, perhaps we might have another Borodin on our hands: chemist by day, composer by night.
