Hiatus: oops and sorry. Things here are great. Tessa is almost always a complete joy and nearly unfailingly cheerful. She is, however, in process of cutting two more teeth. Of those top front guys, one is almost completely through the gums and the other is just beginning its descent. So there have been quite a few more grumpy moments than normal. But guess who loves her sister? Tess was a real crank on Tuesday, but then we picked up Maggie from school and she was happy as a lark. She's fascinated by things Maggie does (who isn't?), loves it when she squeals and squeaks nonsensically for her, even smiles when Mags manhandles her. It is so wonderful! I think they're going to be good friends.
There's still no crawling taking place. Tess gets frustrated very quickly when put on her tummy or on her hands and knees; she flips over onto her back almost immediately. But she is starting to lead out with her hands a little while she's sitting up. So she'll be getting there. She likes to stand up while you hold her hands and will walk a few steps that way too. I think she is very close to pulling herself up to standing. We don't have very many suitable places for her to do this (no coffee table, for instance), so maybe that's why it's taken her a little bit more time to master that. She has her 9 month check-up early next week, so I'll be able to report on all her stats next post. We just love our baby girl!
